Montgomery Paul “Monte” Nickell, 43, died Jan. 31, 2004.

He was born March 9, 1960, in Seattle to Judith L. Hitchcock and Thomas G. Nickell. 

He moved to Whidbey Island more than three years ago. He lived with his Aunt Kissy, and they became good friends. He worked for the South Whidbey School District as a custodian.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Matthew and Jeffrey Nickell.

He is survived by his parents; a sister, Stacy R. Jha, and her husband, Amilab; Thomas Dechar; four aunts, Kissy, Wendy, Marcy and Candy; three uncles, Abe, Bryan and Larry; their thoughtful families; as well as great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of South Whidbey, 2277 Newman Road in Freeland. The Rev. Daniel Corbett will officiate. Memorials may be made to the church.
